Museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" on November 6, 2022 at 11.00 invites you to Children's Morning. Together with the cat Alberts, children will get to know the traditions of the annual customs, look for the motif of the St. Martin's rooster in the interior and digital exposition of the art nouveau museum, look at and try on hats, work creatively, and capture a moment in the art nouveau photo salon.

The creative workshop "18th of November" is available in November 2022 from Tuesday to Saturday. On the other hand, on holidays and days close to them - November 11, 12, 18, 19, i.e. on Friday and Saturday – workshops are free of charge. Pre-registration is mandatory.

On November 5, 2022, the painter and scenographer Eduard Vītols would have turned 145 years old. In honor of the anniversary, the museum " Riga Art Nouveau Center" will exhibit a new addition to the collection - the watercolor painting "Landscape" by Eduards Vītols, created in 1908. The artist's works from the early period are relatively rare, this watercolor painting is available to a wider audience for the first time. The story about the artwork displayed as part of the series "Museum Stories" will take place on November 4 at 16.00, but the watercolor painting itself will be on display in the museum until December 4.

02.11.-15.01.2023. 11:00-18:00 The exhibition Decolonial Ecologies: Understanding Postcolonial after Socialism aims to explore the complex entanglements of postcolonial and postsocialist imprints in contemporary society and culture in Latvia, the Baltics, and its neighboring regions through the prism of environmental history and changes, and the current ecological crisis. Postcolonial and decolonial approaches to rethinking the complex relations between past and present have gained new urgency in Eastern Europe and the postsocialist region with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. These approaches aim to provide new perspectives on how to think about the lasting influence of colonial, imperial, and occupation powers, even after their apparent end, as well as to think through truly breaking free from these influences.

From October 27, 2022, museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" invites you to get to know the works of the outstanding Azerbaijani artist Inna Kostin in the exhibition "Silk Wings of Absheron". The author is one of the world's most outstanding specialists in the silk painting technique - batik. The silk scarves presented in this exhibition, depict the landscapes of the Absheron Peninsula that are intertwined with oriental and national motifs, as well as the image of the mythical bird simurgh.

During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to get to know the letterforms of the Art Nouveau period and make a personalized bookmark with the letters and ornaments of the design created by Jūlijs Madernieks.
