On November 17, 2022 at 18.00 at the Riga Culture and Folk Art Center "Mazā ģilde" performance by kokle ensemble "Cantata".
The concert on the eve of Latvia's 104th birthday will feature excellent compositions by Latvian composers arranged for kokle and cello, and a new work for kokle, cello and percussion "Mēness apdārzs" created especially for this event by composer Āriks Ešenvalds.
Cellist Valters Pūce and percussionist Uģis Upenieks will play together with the kokle ensemble "Cantata".
Known compositions by Jēkabs Nīmanis, Emīls Dārziņš, Imants Kalniņš, etc. will vibrate in an unprecedented sound. Melodies created by composers and professionally arranged for the kokle allow to show the rich, clear color palette of the oldest and most popular Latvian folk instrument - the kokle - and the wide, varied and unlimited musical possibilities of playing this instrument.
The message of Knuts Skujenieks creative work is always relevant and not restrained by time and generations, therefore, combining the power of music and words into a single whole, actor Mārtiņš Počs will supplement the concert program with the poetry of Knuts Skujenieks.
Tickets can be purchased at "Bilešu paradize" ticket offices and www.bilesuparadize.lv.
