From November 3 to December 18, 2022, the 25th anniversary exhibition "Retrospect" of the folk painting studio "Grīva" can be viewed in the lobby of the 2nd floor of the Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems".
The anniversary exhibition of the folk painting studio "Grīva" looks back on the works made in the painting studio over the past 25 years. The exhibition is like a retrospective, where you can see the works that were created both at the beginning of the studio and in the last years.
Painting studio "Grīva" was founded in 1997. The artistic director of the studio is Juris Ģermanis. The studio has 19 participants who work in oil, watercolor and pastel techniques and actively participate in exhibitions throughout Latvia. The members of the "Grīva" studio often find inspiration in nature and the surrounding environment, therefore the works displayed in the exhibition show landscapes in different seasons and techniques.
During the exhibition, the head of the studio, artist Juris Ģermanis, will offer a look at two painting master classes - in the open classes, those interested will have the opportunity to get involved in the painting process and the work of the "Grīva" studio.
The open classes will be held on 13.11. and 20.11. from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the "Amatu nams" of the Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems".
Please apply for the open classes by writing to: ilguciems@riga.lv.
