Museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" on November 6, 2022 at 11.00 invites you to Children's Morning. Together with the cat Alberts, children will get to know the traditions of the annual customs, look for the motif of the St. Martin's rooster in the interior and digital exposition of the art nouveau museum, look at and try on hats, work creatively, and capture a moment in the art nouveau photo salon.
Together with Albert the Cat, children will be able to color their Martin's rooster and play fun games. In the museum's virtual exposition, the whole family will have the opportunity to put together a puzzle of an Art Nouveau house, test their architectural skills, as well as create a diploma for themselves with the ornaments of the Latvian artist Jūlijs Madernieks.
Nature motifs and stylized decorations of animals and birds are an important part of Art Nouveau. The depiction of various birds and their stylizations are widely found both in house facades, interior decorations, and also in stained glass windows. The motif of the rooster occupies a special place in the traditions of Latvian people's annual traditional customs and in the history of Riga, which is also revealed in many ways by the interior of the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" and the virtual museum exposition.
The Children's Morning lesson will be led by Iveta Sproģe, project manager of the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center".
The event is intended for children aged 5 to 8.
