Festive surprises await visitors at the Riga Porcelain Museum from October 25 to October 30, 2022.
The Riga Porcelain Museum preserves and popularizes the art and production history of Latvian porcelain. The Riga Porcelain Museum was established with the decision of the Riga municipality on December 19, 2000, and opened its doors to visitors on October 30, 2001. Over time, the museum has developed and transformed, its collection has grown and currently the museum stores more than 10,000 objects of porcelain, faience and other ceramic materials, graphic materials and documents. The museum conducts research, prepares publications, holds exhibitions that reflect the current art process, as well as the results of historical research, tours, a creative porcelain workshop and educational programs are also available to the public.
In order to celebrate the anniversary , during the holiday week from October 25 to 30, every museum visitor and creative workshop participant will be treated to various surprises. The video of the new educational program "Cobalt" will be shown in the museum all week. The educational program itself includes a lecture on the history of cobalt and a hands-on lesson, which must be applied for as a separate service. On Sunday, October 30, admission to the Riga Porcelain Museum will be free.
The main exhibition of the Museum - reflects the industrial art of porcelain and the various aspects related to it from the second half of the 19th century to the 21st century in Latvia.
On the other hand, the solo exhibition of the artist Solvita Zāle "Conversations over coffee" can be seen in the exhibition room of the Museum until December 11, 2022; it exhibits the author's latest works, as well as a small retrospective of the artist's earlier works on the first floor of the Museum, in the cashier area.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from pl. 11.00 to 18.00.
