On October 24, 2023 at 19.00 Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol" in Riga Culture and Folk Art Center "Mazā ģilde" opens the pre-anniversary concert season with the concert " The Sun is Meant for You. Autumnal.”
The concert will feature the pearls of Latvian choral music, the golden repertoire of the Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol" and musical masterpieces performed by the Chamber Choir since the beginning of its existence. Some of the brightest and most saturated compositions that will be heard at the concert - the vocalizations of the dreamy graphic artist Jānis Ivanovs "Gubu mākoņi" (1970) and "Jūsma" (1982). Alongside them is a part of Pēteris Plakidis famous choral symphony "Destiny" (1985), written specifically for the Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol". Plakidis choral music will be complemented with the readings by the owner of the clear voice, Aleksandra Špitzberga.
The Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol" will also perform the new generation beauty seeker Jēkabs Jančevski's masterpiece for choir and cello "When" with Shakespeare's poetry (2016) and "Meditation for Light" for violin and piano (2020). The Chamber Choir will sing "Līdzenuma Ainavas" composed by Pēteris Vaskas for choir, violin and cello, at the turn of the century, but everything will be crowned by his vision "Fruit of Silence" (text by Mother Teresa), which was written as a testimony to the vitality of eternal love.
At the conductor's stand, the conductor of the Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol" Jurģis Cābulis, who made his debut at the Mežaparka stage this summer, honoured by becoming the Chief Conductor, solo performances by the charming pianist Agnese Egliņa, one of Latvia's leading violinists Marta Spārniņa, the inimitable cellist Ēriks Kiršfelds and the solist of Riga Chamber Choir "Ave Sol" Aleksandra Špicberga.
