Throughout January, from Tuesday to Saturday, a thematic porcelain decoration workshop will take place in the Riga Porcelain Museum.
In January, the Riga Porcelain Museum invites you to make filigree decorations and ornaments from white or tinted porcelain clay or create them by pressing the clay into specially prepared ornamental forms. Porcelain snowflakes, images of nature or animals, blanks for earrings, pendants, brooches, or Christmas tree decoration sets - visitors will be given the opportunity to create unique holiday souvenirs for giving or decorating!
With a pre-prepared tube filled with castable mass, fine patterns can be drawn on the plaster base, which after drying and firing at 1250 °C, will turn into beautiful, fragile porcelain ornaments. Or, if you choose, it will be possible to press the plaster mass into molds prepared by the artists. Museum teachers will help you realize your idea and take care of the post-processing of the created object.
Visitors from the age of 7 are invited to participate in the workshop, individually or in groups, and it is accessible to people with special needs.
Workshop participation fee 9.00 EUR.
Mandatory prior application by phone +371 26406354 or e-mail rpmdarbnica@riga.lv every day from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., except Mondays and Sundays.
