"White Night" in Riga is part of the international project "White Nights of Europe", which was started by five European capitals - Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Riga and Rome, and currently cities all over the world have joined this network. The idea of "White Night" is to make contemporary art more accessible to residents by involving interested parties in diverse art events one night per year.
On September 3, 2022, the Riga Culture and Leisure Center "Imanta" invites all interested parties to a concert "White Night" in the courtyard of the Bolderāja branch library - in the pine garden.
On this evening in the pine garden, the musical program will be complemented by light show - illuminated tree foliage and the library itself. In the illuminated summer garden, the audience will hear the following performers:
At 20.00, kokle ensemble "Kārta", who will perform music of various eras and styles, starting with compositions from the Baroque period and ending with modern original works by Latvian authors.

The collective's repertoire includes both typical barbershop songs (originally composed for such singing), as well as Latvian popular songs ("Meldermeitiņa", "Dzīvīte, Āvītīte") arranged by the members themselves and world hits, including the famous "Bohemian Rhapsody" by "Queen".
At 21.00, in the continuation of the musical program, the duo - singer Ilona Balode and guitarist Valerijs Cirulis, will perform songs from the jointly released album "Plans", as well as other well-known and popular songs by Latvian authors.
At 21.30 the evening will be closed by the performance of Ivars Stubis - post-folk guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, who was born in Melbourne, but currently lives in Riga.
