In February, from Tuesday to Saturday, interested parties are encouredged to apply to a molding workshop at the Riga Porcelain Museum.
The Riga Porcelain Museum offers a creative porcelain workshop to get to know the exciting process of creating porcelain products with colored molding mass. In the workshop, you will be able to learn both porcelain making and various decorating techniques.
Throughout February, accompanied by museum pedagogues, visitors will be given the opportunity to make a porcelain piala (oriental-themed bowl) from tinted porcelain masses.
Traditionally, porcelain is associated with the color white, but by mixing metal oxides, porcelain masses of different shades can be obtained. Blue, red, green and white cast porcelain will be available. Porcelain masses can be mixed together to create gorgeous and unique objects. At the request of the workshop participants, the pials can be glazed, but already finished works can be received after few weeks at the museum. The creative workshop is an opportunity to make a unique gift for yourself or your friends and relatives.
Every participant of the workshop is invited to create a bright and high-quality porcelain product for everyday use.
The workshop will be led by museum teachers Vita Lukstiņa and Astra Kaprāne.
Visitors from the age of 6 are invited to participate in the workshop, individually or in groups, no specific prior knowledge is required. The event is accessible to people with special needs.
The workshop in February is available from Tuesday to Saturday. Workshop participation fee 9.00 EUR.
Mandatory prior application by phone +371 26406354 or e-mail rpmdarbnica@riga.lv every day from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., except Mondays and Sundays.
