As part of the exhibition hall “Riga art space” exhibit “Latvian Musical Instruments. Experimental laboratory.”on September 22 at 19.00, performance “Latvian Musical Instruments” by the sound art collective “Children’s Morning”.
Children's Morning is a sound art collective that gathers people who are open to collaboration and new searches in the fields of sound, space and communication. Since its beginnings, in the festival "Sound Forest" in 2007, Children's Morning has carefully listened to noises and tirelessly improved its awareness of space through sound. It has always had handy tools – a clear mind, open ears and free hands. Enough to rock the room. Also, the instinct of collectors and gatherers has put forward physical tools and musical objects.
Children's Morning did not hide the acquired knowledge and understanding, but brought it to light by sharing its experience and helping everyone who is looking to hear the magical of the everyday life. Over time, various master classes, courses and performances - lectures have been created. In cooperation with stage artists, many different sound devices have been created for both theater performances and exhibitions, as well as kinetic installations for indoor and outdoor spaces.
In the performance "Latvian Muusical Instruments", Children's Morning will use both historical and dear to the heart tools, as well as brand new instruments, created specially for the opera "Cool" by Anna Kirse and Katrina Neiburga. "Habitat System" will also be demonstrated - a kinetic tool, currently undergoing the prototype testing phase, created in cooperation with Arturas Puntis.
At the exhibition "Latvian Musical Instruments. Experimental laboratory." Children's Morning collective will be represented by Jekabs Nimanis and Maksims Sentelevs. As usual, the sound sequence will be improvised, inspired by the presence of every visitor.
