On October 21, 2023, at 18.00, the concert performance "Treasures of Cinema Music" will be performed in the Concert Hall AVE SOL.
It is difficult to imagine the modern world without the presence of cinema. And music has always been an integral part of any cinema - even in the days of silent cinema, the film screening was accompanied by a pianist or, in more well off places, an orchestra. Cinema and music are essentially a synthesis of two arts that have become inseparable. The musical framework affects the emotional nature of the film, giving the message a much brighter, more nuanced and deeper meaning. Often, film soundtracks continue their life outside the screen, however, always evoking an association with the specific film work for which they were created.
The mixed choir LAUDATE and the artistic director Jānis MISIŅŠ will offer their vision and feeling for the treasures of world and Latvian cinema music in the concert performance "Treasures of Cinema Music". Together with the LNSO string quintet, Valters LĪCIS (percussion instruments), Kārlis KUNDRĀTS (piano) and Madara MISIŅA (flute), the choir will play more than one pearl of film music - the deeply poignant compositions created by Ennio Morricone for the world cinema classics "Once Upon a Time in America" and "Cinema Paradiso" , Michel Legran's music for the film "Cherbourg Umbrellas", Nino Rota's recognizable themes for the film "The Godfather", music by Raimonds Pauls and Imants Kalniņš from the domestic films "Theater", "Long Road in the Dunes", "Breathe Deeper" and many others.
