Eriks Ellers (1924-1994) was the chief artist of the Riga Porcelain Factory in the period from the 20th century. 60s - 80s. During his working life, he not only coordinated the work of the factory's Artistic Laboratory and reviewed the visual image of the production, but also created the shapes and decorations of various dishes himself. Participated in several industrial exhibitions and received high awards.
The exhibition will feature previously exhibited or published works by Eller, as well as objects and design samples that have not yet been seen by the audience. It will be an opportunity to assess not only the change of the author's handwriting, but also the overall development of porcelain stylistic trends of the second half of the 20th century, during the time when Latvia was occupied and was part of the Soviet Union. The exhibition will feature not only consumer items designed by Eller, but also products produced for a short period of time and lesser-known decors, which will be of interest to Riga porcelain connoisseurs.
