In April, the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" celebrates its fifteenth anniversary.
During the museum's operation, museum has created a wide and diverse collection, it has been visited by a large number of visitors and tourists, has curated and organized countless exhibitions and events. From April 24 to June 30, celebrating the anniversary, the museum invites you to the exhibition "Rozentāls. Purvītis. Valters", which exhibits the works of outstanding Latvian Art Nouveau artists from the private collection of Kukšu Manor.
This year marks the fifteenth year since the foundation of the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" on April 23, 2009. The collection of the museum has grown from a few items into a unique art nouveau collection with more than 9,000 exhibits. Museum has gained international recognition, is active in several international professional organizations (ICOM, RANN) and is mentioned in various foreign guides and websites. It has organized both local and international events in Europe, America and Asia. By the month of the anniversary, 425,627 visitors from all over the world has visited the museum.
Museum expresses its deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated valuable family heirlooms, shared memories, held exhibitions, concerts and supported the museum's growth with their talent.
Museum celebrates its anniversary with a new exhibition from the private collection of Kukšu Manor. Residents of Riga and guests of the city will be able to see the works of the great masters of the Art Nouveau period - Janis Rozentāls, Vilhelms Purvītis and Johana Valters. Professor Jānis Krastiņš's series of lectures on European Art Nouveau will start from May, the first lecture will take place on May 16th and will introduce the visitors to Brussels Art Nouveau.
The exhibition "Rozentāls. Purvītis. Valters. Paintings from the collection of Kukšu Manor" will be on display at the museum from April 24 to June 30, 2024.
