From February 7 to March 12, 2023, the jubilee exhibition “Koks. Koki. Mežš.”in Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems".
This year, the folk applied art studio "Ceplis" of the Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems" is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Under the skilled hands of the head of the studio, Vija Vose, the participants learn the techniques of creating ceramics and various types of their glazings.
Every day, studio members create various ceramic products - cups, plates, bowls, vases and much more. The abstract nature of Latvia is reflected in the different colored glazes and shapes of the fired ceramics. The exhibitions of the works created in the studio are closely related to the nature of Latvia and its diversity, which is the main source of inspiration for the studio members.
The folk applied art studio "Ceplis" was founded in 1993, but since its establishment, the location of the workshop has changed several times - initially it was located in Kr. Barona Street, then in the Palace of Culture "Ziemeļblāzma", but since 2011 the studio has been operating in the Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems".
