Express-exhibition at Riga Porcelain Museum is on display until the end of October
As an interpretation of the White Night contemporary culture forum’s this year theme On a Plate, the Riga Porcelain Museum introduces visitors to the variety of types and functions of different dishes that were produced in Kuznetsov and Jessen as well as in Riga Porcelain Factories and now supplements the exhibits of the main exposition. Porcelain factories produced not only the table ware for the fine dinning rituals, but also items necessary for the casual use in kitchen – such as a set of the breakfast dishes, cutting boards, small barrels for salted and pickled food, compote wares and series of dishes designed specially for the use in schools.
The careful observer will notice the extensive range of aesthetic qualities with which the factory masters design the shape and the artistic finish of porcelain ware.
