Paula Stutiņa's solo exhibition "notes" will be on view at the Riga Culture Center "Iļguciems" from April 4 to May 15.
The artist says about herself - "In my life, I have existed in the environment of visual art from different angles. From secondary professional art education, to analyzing and describing art, managing an art museum, organizing exhibitions and teaching art to others. I have taken on these roles. In the end, I conclude that art cannot be forced to be loved, respected or understood. It is in each person's hands. However, it is important to offer it. The works shown in the exhibition are the first that I painted without the comments or suggestions of others, without the task, theme and absolute observance of the laws of art. All works are abstract and untitled. It is not important for me to explain to you what I see in them or what their meaning is, I want to invite each of you to see something there for yourself - all answers, feelings and reflections are true. These works of art do not have a common theme or a common story, they are like entries in a diary, each one about its day and its events or experiences - notes. Like music, abstract art touches everyone individually and personally. You just have to let go, listen to yourself and believe what you hear."
