At the Riga Porcelain Museum in February - a themed porcelain making workshop, with colorful molding materials.
The Riga Porcelain Museum offers a creative porcelain workshop for interested people of all ages to get to know the process of creating porcelain products. In the workshop you can learn both porcelain making and decorating techniques.
Throughout February, in the workshop of the Riga Porcelain Museum, we offer you to make a porcelain bowl from tinted porcelain masses. It is a unique opportunity to make an original gift for yourself or to your loved ones. Every participant of the workshop is invited to create a bright and high-quality porcelain product for everyday use. There are no age restrictions for creative expressions, both school-aged children and their parents, as well as anyone interested without specific prior knowledge, can participate. The workshop is accessible to people with special needs.
Traditionally, porcelain is associated with the color white, but by mixing metal oxides, porcelain masses of different shades can be obtained. Blue, red, green and white cast porcelain will be available. Porcelain masses can be mixed together that can result in gorgeous hand made objects. The works can be glazed upon request. You will be able to receive the finished works in a few weeks.
The workshop will be led by museum teachers Rasa Jansone and Astra Kaprāne.
The workshop in February is available from Tuesday to Saturday. Workshop participation fee 9.00 EUR.
You need to register for the workshop in advance by phone +371 26406354 or email rpmdarbnica@riga.lv every day from 11.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., except Mondays and Sundays. Please note that the number of places in the workshop is limited.
