On April 28, 2024 at 5:00 p.m., in the Concert Hall AVE SOL performance of the popular and recognizable piece "Adiemus" by the Welsh composer Karl Jenkins.
The work created by Jenkins vibrates with a fascinating musical code that evokes timeless, intangible feelings, simultaneously merging with both the mighty power of the earth and the ethereal lightness of the sky, as if making you hear the language of the earth, the Tower of Babel and the multi-colored unity of the modern world.
On the evening of April 28 at 5:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall AVE SOL, chamber choir "Motus" (conductors Evija Milzarāja and Jaroslavs Poliakovs), the youth choir "Impulss" (conductors Gunita Bičule and Līva Ance Actiņa), the mixed choir "Monēta" (artistic manager Ilze Feldmane, conductor Ieva Zilauce), Ilze Inapša (piano), Pēteris Šlosbergs (electric organ), Reinis Tomiņš (percussion instruments) invites you to experience this musical splendor
The piece is inspired by gospel and African music, but the lyrics are written in a fictional language that has no meaning. It was created in a series of phonetic empty syllables, which can be perceived rather as an instrumental sound, however, in the jumble of self-invented syllables, Jenkins unknowingly used an already existing word "adiemus", not knowing that its Latin meaning is "we will approach".
