On November 17, 2022 at 19.00 in the Great Hall of Riga Culture and Leisure Center "Imanta" holiday concert "SHE is the most beautiful to us".
On the eve of the 104th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, on November 17 at 19.00 In the Great Hall of the Riga Culture and Recreation Center "Imanta", the concert program "Mums VIŅA ir visskaistākā" will bring together the special shades of Latvianness - the most beautiful arrangements of folk songs created for the "Anima" choir, Latvian love and faith in eternal change and the presence of nature in the original music of Kristaps Krievkalns, as well as values that day by day help us to realize how happy we are as Latvians in our land - a free land.
At the concert listeners will hear music and covers of R. Paula, U. Stabulniekas, and Ē. Ešenvald's songs and compositions, to tune in and capture emotional saturation and experience pleasant emotions. The participants of the concert will be the Saulkrasti mixed choir "Anima", composer and percussionist Miķelis Vīte, flautist Andis Klučnieks, soloist Elīna Ose, keyboardist Kristaps Krievkalns and conductor Laura Leontjeva.
Singer and folk music researcher Sam Lee says the following about the mixed choir "Anima": "Anima” choir in one breath reveals not only the identity of its people and its ancient connection with song and latvian heritage, but also proves itself as a cross-cultural expert in the art of interaction. It was a thrillingly joyful experience to perform with them.”
Saulkrasti mixed choir "Anima" was founded on November 30, 2001, its artistic director and conductor is Laura Leontjeva. The choir is characterized by the ability to be in eternal progress and change, to experiment with the type of performance, style and characters. It is for this reason that the choir's repertoire is so diverse - untamed folk music, classical choir and rhythmic popular music. The choir has participated in the World Music Festival "Porta" several times, the projects realized in recent years have been evaluated with the "Great Music Award", nominations for the annual music recording award "Zelta Mikrofons" and received the excellence award of the Latvian Events Forum.
