In the exhibition hall "Riga Art Space" on October 13 at 19.00, the conversation "Latvian Musical Instruments" with the collector of traditional musical instruments, musician and composer Kārlis Auzāns, in which he will share stories about the creation of his instrument collection, as well as objects that can be viewed in the exhibition "Latvian Musical Instruments. Experimental laboratory." Exhibition holds eight traditional instruments from different cultures and countries from the private collection of Kārļis Auzāns. A special story is associated with each of these instruments - how and why it ended up in the composer's collection. Two years ago, at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, K. Auzāns daily started on his social network platforms started to create about a minute long meditation videos, each time using a different musical instrument.
Kārlis Auzāns is a musician and composer, the author of music for many award-winning films and theater performances. Member of the cello trio "MeloM" and a virtuoso of various instruments and a collector of various world instruments.
