From 10 to 12 October Rīga St.Peter’s Church (Skārņu Street 19, Old Town) will host the textile art exhibition THREADS OF CULTURE offered by the Textile Arts Association of Latvia.
The textile art exhibition THREADS OF CULTURE features the threads that mutually influence each other in the global art context when the information space is open for the most diverse processes in the area of art. A particularly important feature of the exhibition is the contribution of the young artists who have sought novel forms of expression and technical solutions such as digital weaving, silk-screening, batik and other authorship techniques. An important role in the exhibition belongs to tapestry with its tonal richness and nuances.
The exhibition features works by artists of several generations thus offering an idea about the development trends of textile arts in Latvia. The exhibition shows the vision of the global space and revelations of each individual artist. Among the participants of the exhibition there are artists who are famous for their creative achievements, such as Edīte Pauls-Vīgnere, Daina Dagnija, Irisa Blumate, Ruta Bogustova, Skaidrīte Leimane, Baiba Osīte, Baiba Rītere, Rolands Krutovs, Mārīte Leimane, Ingrīda Sūna and others as well as young textile artists – Dace Puga, Sabīne Vīksne, Kristīne Sīle and Jolanta Šalvīte.
