We invite you to visit the museum and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the Art Nouveau interior - at the exhibition "Christmas in the Art Nouveau atmosphere". The interior decorated by Tamara Chudnovska and Christmas trees decorated in the style of the 19th century, works of art by Kristīne Japiņa and and special room lighting by Dina Baumane will make the holidays warm and unforgettable.
Every year, the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" decorates the interior at Christmas, bringing to life the traditions of decorating the rooms of the Art Nouveau period. Also this year, the artist T. Chudnovska created the interior festive decoration and decorated three Christmas trees. A particularly luxurious Christmas tree is installed in the living room of the museum. It is decorated with Christmas tree ornaments typical of the end of the 19th century. The romantic atmosphere is enhanced by the illuminated windows of the museum, through which you can see the decorated Christmas tree, the Advent wreath and the Horn of Plenty.
As part of the exhibition "Christmas in an Art Nouveau mood", the exhibition "Notes of Nature" of the works of Kristine Japiņa and Dinas Baumanes will be on display. The bead jewelry, brooches, earrings and bracelets twisted in fine stitches by Kristine Japiņa remind of the Queen Victoria era, when small pearl products became an integral part of jewelry and clothing embroideries. On the other hand, the artist Dina Baumane has exhibited expressive light decorations with botanical elements in the museum premises. The paper casting technique in which the artist works offers the opportunity to create milky white paper works of art suitable for the winter theme. They will create a festive and bright holiday mood for every visitor of the museum, when the summer heat, light and plants seem frozen waiting for a miracle.
The exhibition can be viewed from December 6, 2022 to January 15, 2023 every day from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., in the Riga Art Nouveau Center museum, Alberta Street 12, Riga (entrance from Strēlnieku Street).
