From April 4 to April 16, we invite you to enjoy the Easter mood at the museum"Riga Art Nouveau Center"! The interior of the museum is complemented by festive decorations inspired by historical examples, as well as objects of the early 20th century from the museum's collection related to the coming of spring. On April 4 and 14, 2023 at 4:00 p.m., visitors on special tours will be introduced to the festive interior and there will also be an opportunity to take a photo in a large Easter postcard at the entrance of the museum on Albert Street 12.
During Easter, the interior of the apartment of the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center" complemented by festive decorations made by the artist Tamara Čudnovska and inspired by historical examples. The decoration of the rooms will be completed with the Easter bunny, eggs and spring flowers in various techniques as well as the Easter wreath, which symbolizes the eternal life given to humanity by Jesus Christ and his sacrifice. In the interior, you will also find baskets of various shapes, which have always been a very popular decoration at Easter, as it was in them that colored eggs were kept and displayed. In the dining hall, you will have the opportunity to feast your eyes on a chocolate bunny and a biscuit lamb, which were made using historical metal molds from the museum's collection.
An Easter tree decorated with silk ribbons and eggs will be exhibited in the Museum's photo salon. It symbolizes life, knowledge of good and evil.
In the interior of the museum, objects from the beginning of the 20th century related to the coming of spring from the collection of the museum "Riga Art Nouveau Center”, as well as Easter postcards from the beginning of the 20th century, will be on display. They have been reissued according to historical models and can be purchased in the museum shop.
On April 4 and 14 at 4:00 p.m., special tours in the Museum will give an insight into the traditions of Easter celebration, the techniques of decorating the premises and the preparation of the Easter treats. From April 4 to 16, the residents of Riga and guests of the city will be delighted to see a large-format Easter postcard at the entrance of the museum on Albert Street, displayed specially to take a photo.
