In August, two exhibitions can be seen in the galleries of the Culture and Recreation Center "Imanta" - Dmitri Zakharov's photo exhibition "Nature and Animals" and Sandra Semenkovica's exhibition of oil painting "Healing Place".
The main theme of both exhibitions is moments of nature and events around us. The works of the exhibition depict both nature and living creatures.
Dmitry Zakharov is primarily a landscape and portrait photographer, but also photographs animals. He says about the exhibition: "The surrounding living nature - birds, animals and the micro world of insects - these are the topics that interest me. Every second we pass by them and sometimes we don't even notice them. In the exhibition, the animals are photographed in motion. You can also see a couple of pictures from competition. It is very important for me to create pleasant emotions in the audience, which each of us needs so much these days".
There are already more than 2000 photographs in D. Zakharov's collection. Dmitri's first photo exhibition took place in Rezekne. Now the second exhibition has traveled to Riga, where the author shows moments captured in nature.
Dmitry was born in Rēzekne, studied at Rēzekne 2nd secondary school. He continued his education at the BSA Rēzekne branch, obtaining a bachelor's degree in the field of Information Systems (2011). Currently lives in Riga and works in a printing company. He started working with photography relatively recently - in 2020, but has already managed to achieve success in various photo contests. D. Zakharovs has improved his knowledge in photo courses in Moscow, in portrait photography (2021).
Sandra Semenkoviča started painting to get to know herself and realize the talent she inherited from her grandfather, as well as to share her joy and feelings. In the midst of everyday work and hustle, time is found to practice the art of qigong (a non-traditional oriental form of exercise). The artist knows how to merge with nature, feel its magic and healing power. The artist's paintings radiate energy that helps a person find peace, relax, and get rid of stress.
Each painting is part of Latvian nature, part of Sandra's soul. Their main purpose is to strengthen and inspire the visitors of the exhibition, because nature itself is our healing place.
Dmitry Zakharov's photography exhibition "Nature and Animals" is open to visitors from August 1 to 31
The exhibition of Sandra Semenković's paintings "Healing Place" is open to visitors from August 3 to 31.
Thes exhibitions are free of charge every day from 10.00 to 20.00
