Cultural Space "STROPS" program " Vasara priežu dārzā "

Within the framework of the " Vasara priežu dārzā " cultural events program, it is planned to implement 10 events for Bolderāja neighborhood residents of different ages.

June 29, 17.00 – 18.00

An evening of singers in the pine garden

Concert will host various singers. On this special opening day of summer “STROPS”, the ethnomusicologist Zane Šmite and the excellent guitarist Ilze Grunte will visit the Pine Garden. Visitors will have a chance to hear both Zane's rich collection of folk songs as well as Ilze's composed songs.

06 July, 12.00 – 14.30.

Concert and games  for children

Culture and Recreation Center "Imanta" children's and youth theater "Horizonts", will perform plays and musical numbers from various theater performances, which over the years have been established as the "golden repertoire" of the theater troup. It will be an educational and entertaining program for children. After the show, children will have an opportunity to participate in fun games and activities.

July 13, 17.00 – 18.00

Classical music concert

Concert program with 3 bright personalities in music. Well-known opera arias, tangos from different eras and songs by Latvian composers interpreted by soloist Madaras Dziedātāja together with the brilliant cellist Agates Ozoliņa and interpretations from pianist Jānis Miltiņš most beautiful piano works - enchantment in compositions from different eras. A perfectly balanced program of classical and contemporary music about life, passion and joy.

July 20 14.00 – 15.30

An insight into the antiquity of Pārdaugava

A lecture on the history of Pārdaugava and an excursion with an insight into antiquity in cooperation with the association "Bolderājas grupa". The oldest part of Bolderāja in the Riga development plan has been marked with a building protection status. The building protection status protects the ancient street network and the historical buildings, which has been formed since the 17th century, after pilots and customs officers started to dwell there permanently. When Bolderāju was annexed to Riga, the names of the streets changed, but some houses continued to be called by the names of their residents for several generations. "Bolderājas grupa" together with its head of association Sandra Jakušonoka takes a deep interest and advocates for the development of the Bolderāja neighborhood. She conducts historical research, leads various excursions and organizes meetings of like-minded people.

Puppet theater in the pine garden

Excerpts from the most popular puppet theater shows with puppet theater actors. Children will have the opportunity not only to see the adventures of the puppets, but to also interact with them.

03 August 12.00-13.30

Crazy Professors and the Dry Ice Show

The crazy professors will carry out various colorful experiments, in which they will involve the little researchers gathered at the show. Together with them conjure smoke and walk on clouds. The event management agency Krāsu Karuselis will bring experiments and small wonders of physics to Bolderāja. Children and young people are invited to get involved, try and not to be afraid that something might spill, bubble up or shoot out of nowhere. By acquiring new skills, they will be able to use them in the future.

August 10, 12.00-13.30

Concert program - Life as a song festival!

Performace by musician Katrīna Dimanta and her group. Choir songs from the song and dance festival repertoire will be played as well as Latvian folk songs and the most popular songs performed at children's and youth song and dance festivals.

August 17, 17:00-18:30

Health lecture and qigong master class

The event is suitable for anyone interested to receive energy, harmony and knowledge and skills on health. Masters will share their knowledge not only by lecture, but also by inviting participation in exercises and movement showed at the event.

August 24, 12.00 – 15.00

Multimedia lesson and animation master class

Children together with their parents or independently will have an opportunity to participate with their works in a real animation creation process together with experienced animators Daci Liepa and Silva Utāne. Animation will be created using an application that participants will be invited to download on their mobile phones. Female artists will share their experience gained by working on  Latvian animated films. Dace Liepa's list of works include such animated films as "Ness and Nessia", "Cat's Mill", "Little Devils", "Extraordinary Riga residents", "The Sun Went Up in the Sky " and many others. On the other hand, Silva Utāne, followed in her mother's footsteps and is creatively involved in various art classes for children and, of course, in Latvian animated films, such as: "Jēkabs, Mimi and Talking Dogs".

During the event, various animation films made over the years in master classes by Dace Liepa together with her students will be shown, so that the visitors of the event can get a wider impression of the animation creation process.

Knowledge day in the pine garden

Creative workshops - songs, dances in cooperation with the Pārdaugava creative center. Children and young people, together with their schoolmates, neighbors, friends and relatives, will be able to conclude the cycle of the eventful summer and welcome the new school year with educational and entertaining activities. In a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere, everyone will be able to draw enthusiasm and strength to learn new knowledge.
