On the eve of THE 4th Advent, the women's chamber choir "Rīgas kamerkoris" of the concert organization "Ave Sol" and the girls' choir "Rīga" of the Rīga Skolēni Palace will perform in the "Ave Sol" Concert Hall.
In a new concert program for the choir, in which the music merges into a single whole with the fairy tale "Heart of the Wizard" by Kārlis Skalbes, we will hear choir songs created by Baltic, Nordic and Ukrainian composers, interwoven with winter themes, including two new works - Anna Veismane's composition "Two blizzards" and Andris Dzenītis song cycle - Two songs about winter milk: I Gifts for your friend and II Winter milk".
The synthesis of inspiring music and K. Skalbe's fairy tale will lead to a wonderful winter mood in an abundant adventure, in which the audience will meet King Ziemelis and his troops, personified by aurora borealis, or the northern lights, as it sounds in the music of Ola Gjeilo's song "Northern lights", and the Good Wizard, whose main "weapon ” is a heart full of kindness, helpfulness, love, embodied in the shape of a feather in the arrangement of the Ukrainian folk song “Shchedryk” by Mykola Leontovych. Other compositions of the composers included in the program will reflect the miraculous transformation of the wizard's heart when he encounters various characters, and the main message of the concert performance - happiness as a light touch, comes and flies away, and above all - the blessing of white snowflakes in music.
Actress Zane Jančevska will take on the role of the storyteller, the beautiful fairy tales will be narrated to the listeners by the women's chamber choir "Rīgas Kamerkoris" of the "Ave Sol" concert organization (artistic director Jānis Švartsbahs, choirmaster Aija Smiltēna), the girls' choir of the Riga School Palace "Rīga" (artistic director Irīna Švartsbaha) and soloists Elizabete Laura Porgante, Marta Ozoliņa, Rūta Schwartzbacha. The musical winter mood will be complemented by light show.
