January is a month in Latvian history that is highlighted with turning point of the national fate. It is a time when men went into battles but women sang their love and anticipation by cradles.
This concert is intended as acknowledgement of love and respect to those people who defended their self-being, freedom and country – to all of them who participated in the barricades in 1991.
Lullaby is the first melody a human hears and perceives in this world from his mother. Its code shapes and protects the person and thus it is relevant to the context of this concert.
The sonic landscape of lullabies will be generated by Ieva Parša (voice), Oskars Petrauskis (keyboard) and Raimond Petrauskis (saxophone).
Video performance by Uģis Brikmanis.
