On December 25, 2022, at 14.00 Culture and recreation center "Imanta" offers its visitors to spend time together and enjoying a hearty festive concert. The most beautiful arias from the baroque and romantic era, as well as compositions by Latvian composers, will refresh the souls of the listeners in this Christmas concert, by, owner of the velvety voice countertenor S. Jegers, accompanied by concertmaster Ieva Smite (Ieva Šmite).
Sergejs Jegers is a Latvian singer, countertenor, and officer of the Order of the Three Stars. S. Jegers obtained a bachelor's degree at the Jazepa Vītola Academy of Music of Latvia and in 2005 he completed his master's studies with professor Karlis Zarins (Kārļis Zariņš). The countertenor has improved his mastery in Switzerland at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with professor Andreas Scholl and in the master classes of Professor Robert Expert in France.
The musician has given countless concerts in Latvia, as well as in Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Germany, Great Britain, New Caledonia, USA, Canada, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Spain, Finland, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Egypt, Netherlands, France, etc.
In 2005, as the only countertenor, Sergejs Jegers ranked among the 25 finalists and won the honorable 6th place in the prestigious BBC "Singer of the World 2005" competition in Wales (Cardiff Singer of the World 2005).
