At Riga Art Nouveau Museum
A Christmas miracle has arrived at Riga Art Nouveau Museum where since December 11 the air has been filled with a smell of gingerbread and the general atmosphere set to Victorian age. For the first time in Riga the romantic Art Nouveau interior decorations in combination with splendour of the period of second half of 19th century are on display featuring such objects as handmade pine cones and garlands from silver fir branches and ivy, rose blossoms and angels, ribbons and cones. The interior is supplemented with a hundred year old gifts from Riga’s citizens who donated Christmas tree decorations and greeting cards, and there is a show of thematic aquarelle paintings GINGERBREADS by Anita Paegle too.
The exhibition is open to visitors until January 13, 2013.
On December 15 and 22 at 12am the GINGERBREAD COOKIES DECORATION WORKSHOP is open. In collaboration with the ECO-CATERING you are welcome to learn how to decorate gingerbread cookies using natural dyes.
