During Rīga Festival – on Saturday, 17 August 11 November Embankment will turn into the capital for children as there will be a special whole day programme for everybody, but in particular, for families with children, BRIDGE TO CHILDHOOD featuring a magnificent concert programme as well as opportunities to play in a thematic children activity and entertainment zone
The programme will include a family-like lovely and playful concert shows with the participation of Children Vocal Group “Knīpas un knauķi” as well as Children and Youth Studio“Kukaiņi”. There will also be attractive adventures, jokes and colourful costumes in the musical play performed by Liepāja Puppet Theatre. Play “Sprīdītis” performed by theatre group Zīļuks of Children and Youth Centre “Riga Pupils’ Palace will let children meet such favourite characters as Huge Lutausis, Devil, Winds and others. Among the participants of the concert show there will also be folk dance group “Teiksmiņa” and dancers from sport dance club “Dzintarjūra”. In the conclusion of the event there will be a music, dance and poetry programme for children “Brīnumskapis”– the Miracle Wardrobe.
The organizers of the Festival invite everybody to learn, explore and search in the thematic activity zone where children will be able to participate in building the future Rīga, ride in the velocart track, explore science miracles, watch the procession of the huge puppets and talismans, play unusual musical instruments as well as playin the big sand box.
The visitors of the event will see the surprisingly unusual and breath-taking performances of the acrobatic dance group “Strange Fruit” (Australia) combining theatre, dance and circus elements.
