On October 14, 2022 from 14.00, the celebration of the 121st birthday of Alexander Čaks at the exhibition hall "Riga Art Space", at Kungu Street 3, Riga.
121 is a number that can be read from both sides, equally as a comprehensive view of the importance of the Latvian writer Alexander Čaks in the landscape of cultural history. The year 2022 in A. Čak’s creative work is marked by significant events in the context of literature - 90 for A. Čak's poetry collection "My Paradise" and the poem "Umurkumurs", " Anthology of Latvian Poetry " - 85, as well as this year marks the 10th anniversary of A. Čak's memorial badge designed by A. Villipsons.
Celebrating the 121st birthday of Alexander Čaks, the Alexander Čaks Museum of the Association of Culture Institutions of the Riga Municipality in cooperation with the exhibition hall " Riga Art Space ": on October 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the exhibition hall " Riga Art Space " is holding the international scientific conference "Personalities and works of research", in which researchers Māra Grudule, Valdis Rūmnieks, Edgars Kramiņš, Sandra Ratniece, Antra Medne and Mirja Hovila (Finland) will participate, presenting the latest discoveries in the life and works of Alexander Čaks over the last six years. On October 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the exhibition hall "Riga Art Space", Alexander Čaks commemorative badge ceremony where badges will be presented to people who in recent years have taken care of preserving the poet's memory in their own way - in research, museum work, journalism, creating school programs, publishing, emphasizing in their own "čakisms" co-thinking, creativity and strengthening of the poet's spirit.
On the other hand, from September 21 to December 10, in honor of Alexander Čak’s anniversary, the Alexander Čaks Museum will display a thematic exhibition from the museum's collection "Čaks paradise", dedicated to the works of A. Čaks anniversary works for 2022: the poetry collection "My Paradise", the poem "Umurkumurs", the play "Nagla, Tomato and Plum", as well as the literary history work "Anthology of Latvian Poetry", all of which are celebrating their 90th anniversary this year.
The scientific conference and the Alexander Čaks commemorative badge presentation ceremony for visitors are free of charge.
